These have got to be some of my favorite creatures in all the world. So amazing. Would love to see a wild one someday.
Rob Martin: thanks Alex. We had many special moments with these beasties this trip.
TOTALLY recommended.
Cheers

Focal length 80mm, that way to close...no lens in the world would be fast enough to cover my hands shaking...Nice one Rob
Rob Martin: he he
He was close.
You should see the pic that I took when he was upset!!
We got close on our safari, only a few meters from us, I agree they are very special!
Rob Martin: Cheers mate. Unreal when you're getting an interactive experience. One has to be careful though.. smile

They're superb in their own landscape
Rob Martin: Yes Chris, so at home. They cruise along looking slow but really come up quick from a distance. Great travellers elephant!
I would like to see elephants in their own natural surroundings Rob, your picture makes a good substitute for that.
Rob Martin: thanks Brian.
They are so relaxed and normal in a wild setting.
They "own" the place for sure
Cheers
Rob

Rob Martin: Thanks Jim.
Watching them walk in from a distance is special....
Cheers

Wow..that is close..Using a. 500mm would even be too close for me. Great shot though Rob.
Rob Martin: As long as you keep an eye on the mood, it's usually OK.... usually....

cheers
Rob
This reminds me of the paintings of David Shepherd...so that can't be bad!
Rob Martin: thanks

Wow!

I'd really, really, love to be able to see this for myself, but I somehow doubt the coffers will stretch that far.
Rob Martin: Not so far from England Ellie.
It's the sort of thing I recommend to anyone that loves photography......
Cheers

Wow, Rob. It does look like they were going to charge at you.
Rob Martin: He fronted up to us when he got closer.
I keep the car running and in gear with foot on clutch....
Cheers
Rob
