photoblog image The Setup

The Setup

A lot of people are interested in what and how we go about these things.
This is a picture from outside looking inside at our House in Surat Thani, Southern Thailand.
Six Monks from the nearby temple line the walls, sitting on special seats. You can see the string that joins them and the bridal party. Mum and friends sit in respectful repose listening to the chanting.
A facilitator (White shirt) directs proceedings and we buzz around.
Behind me is a sound stage for some karaoke later and there are people milling around in all directions or looking at proceedings from a similar angle.
Next door I can hear the food preparations and eating of the results in full swing. About 30 people are watching this part, another 70 are out and about and being fed / entertained.
You can see a lot of photos I've taken of graduations etc in the cabinets at the back..
Colin, a good friend of ours and an excellent photographer (www.pbase.com/colind) is assisting with the effort. I concentrated this time on video. The 7D is there in the foreground, recording proceedings.
Sao is on the other side, out of the picture  taking photos of proceedings from a different angle.
Lot's of blurb, hope it's clear.
Cheers
Rob

Now that's some cameras, Your write up really helps to understand the photo. It feels like we are at the wedding.
Rob Martin: Thanks Linda.
Only one of our cameras in shot. Colin has two trusty companions....

he he..I'm glad you lot were not around at my wedding. Wow!
However..you all seem to be doing a great job of the event. Well done Rob.
Rob Martin: fun and games at wedding. Three of us shooting.
Was quite the experience as usual.
Cheers
Rob
I have followed your wedding on your other blog, and now this one, feel I know a bit about it now.
Sorry for lack of recent comments, things conspired against me.
Back to normal next week, I hope.
Rob Martin: Hope all is well Sheila.
That's the main thing....
We'll still keep posting for that vicarious shot in the arm now and then
Cheers
Rob
Quite a set up then Rob, that's one handy camera on that tripod.
Rob Martin: Thanks Mate. The tripod has a Canon 7D sitting on a sound assistant to balance the sound. The 7D and 5D sound systems are not good.
There are many things to look at. Quite interesting Rob!
All the best
Rob Martin: thanks Richard
The whole place was teeming with people and activity..
Cheers

Excellent!

Great that you included Colin at the side, Rob.

Eerrr...how come the bride has a different coloured dress on in this shot? [hint, hint]
Rob Martin: This is the morning.... the attire is traditional. In the evening, the attire is formal, but not Thai traditional. More western really (like the cake cutting)
Cheers
Rob
